Sarah has been doing seed swapping on Facebook recently, so we have many new varieties to try. Tomato seedlings waiting until our last frost date before planting out.
We have 8 blueberry bushes in our garden, but we would like to plant some in our new little orchard. Below is a link to an article about propagating blueberries from cuttings. Brent and I have been helping our dad build a greenhouse. Between the rainy weather and corona virus precautions the progress on my parents greenhouse has slowed way down. Greenhouse progress…all pressure treated framing.
We are already getting our seedlings started inside for the spring garden. For these seedlings we’re using a standard set of 4 foot LED lights as grow lights…nothing special. This is the fourth full harvest from our lettuce bed in the greenhouse. I thought it would be bitter tasting by now, but it still tastes good. Over 2 lbs of lettuce harvested from this little bed this morning.
The greenhouse has 3 small raised beds in it. The largest one is planted out with Oregon Spring determinate tomatoes. There are also four pepper plants behind the tomatoes that are full of blossoms. Both the tomatoes and the peppers are loving the heat and humidity in the greenhouse. Ginger and Turmeric haven’t yet come
