DIY 55 Gallon Compost Tea Brewer

We had been brewing compost tea in 5 gallon buckets and it was a bit of a chore. We set up a 55 gallon plastic drum at the top of the garden for brewing bigger batches of compost tea. We found a youtube video that showed us basically all we needed to know, here. We adjusted the design slightly to make it fit a 55 gallon drum. Also, the plans for the original Oregon State University compost tea brewer can be found here.
The air pump is just out of sight tucked under the chicken coop roof less that 6 feet away. The pump is a 60 watt commercial air pump by Active Aqua, which we bought on Amazon.com, here.

The top is just covered with window screen and bungee chord….super simple.
The air pump is permanently mounted under the chicken coop roof  for weather protection.
