We have a new addition to the Maitri Homestead. Bonnie is a 3 month old Australian Shepherd. She is already doing great with the chickens and cats.
We didn’t know if Bandit, our young Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix, would be able to peacefully coexist with cats and free range chickens. The breed was used in South Africa and known for their ability keep a lion at bay while waiting for their owner to make the kill. Bandit seems to be making the transition

Our new dog, Bandit, is a young Rhodesian Ridgeback mix given to us by a friend. We hope he works out as a good dog around chickens and cats… we think lots of training will be in his future.
