September in the garden

It’s breezy and 55⁰ this morning in the garden. It’s looking a bit tired, but there’s still so much beauty! Such a gorgeous day 🌞

We planted zinnias in this spot four years ago, and they’ve been volunteering here every year since.
The orange cosmos are adding a lot of fall color to the garden.
The last of the elderberry harvest.
The cherry tomatoes are still going strong.
The cucumbers are DONE!
Butterfly weed seed pods have burst.
Coneflower seed heads. I’ll leave most for the birds, but I’ll cut some and plant them in the orchard to spread their loveliness all over the homestead.
Goldenrod is blooming. The bees just love it!
It’s looking a little wild!
We were late planting some tomatoes, and they are still loaded with green globes. Hope they ripen up soon!
This is supposed to be a cucumber and cherry tomato tunnel, but the cosmos and cucumelons have taken over!
