Getting Ready For Spring With More Raised Garden Beds

We are doubling the size of our small garden for this spring. We added four more raised beds using what was on hand.
To make our new raised beds we used the first cuts from felling our pines to make room for the initial garden last year.
Sarah is adding biomass to the bottom of the beds.  We layered in whatever organic matter we could find on the bottom (mulched leaves, grass clippings, chicken droppings, straw and compost).
The chickens are working their magic in the new beds. We will bring in top soil and compost mix to fill them up as soon as possible, and then cover that with mulch from a local saw mill.
