We finally had our first (and hopefully last) stretch of bad weather this winter. It started with a good shower of ice pellets, followed by sleet, followed with temperatures in the teens. The next day brought an inch or so of real snow and single-digit temperatures. All of which caused school closures all week for both Sarah and Ben. Here are some pictures from our little stint of cabin fever.
A little snow on the ground after the first round of snow and sleet. The driveway was covered so we were kind of “stuck” for a few days. |
Ben spent some time drawing, some time writing, reading, studying, and most of his time moaning about how there is “nothing to do”! |
We let the cats in a few times because the temperatures got pretty low. This is how Loren spent some of his time… |
After a few minutes inside, one of our “outdoor” cats has remembered exactly how cushy her previous “indoor” life use to be. |
We had just finished topping off the garden beds with soil and mulch. Good timing! |
A Towhee snacking on some bird food Sarah put out. |
We’ve had many Cardinals visiting us too. |
Bandit is sharing his unfrozen water with all the chickens. The Bantams are on top of the dog house patiently waiting their turn. Bandit is patiently waiting his turn too! |
