We needed a woodshed built quickly since we just installed a wood stove. We have quite a bit of fire wood cut and stacked under tarps, but it wasn’t close to the house or split very well.
The flooring and wall lumber was milled with the Alaskan chainsaw mill. Ben and I split the cedar logs to make posts. The metal roof was given to us by a friend. The flooring, and walls are spaced to allow good airflow for continued drying of the soon to be stacked wood. It will easily hold a cord of wood, which should be sufficient for heating our tiny house with the wood. We will see how it holds up to the bugs and weather…I may regret not having used pressure treated lumber.
This 5′ x 9′ woodshed was built with all local or recycled materials except for the exterior screws. Total cost was less than $10. |
